The new Clarendale Clayton building offers an upscale senior living experience that blends hospitality and healthcare design principles. For this project, Ryan Companies wanted to create a high-end, expansive community that would offer value to the area. To attract residents, they merged high-end finishes with first-class on-site services. As a result, the finished space was a 2022 Best New Development Finalist for the St. Louis Business Journal Commercial Real Estate Awards.

Ryan Companies created the design plans and hired our Live Studio to transform their vision into reality through accurate, detailed construction documents. This approach offered them a number of benefits.

One of the most significant advantages was our proximity to the project. As the architect of record, we knew the building codes for the area and created the plans that would work on the site, while remaining compliant. We also could be on-site quickly to respond to any questions.

Ryan Companies had a particular vision for this project, and we stayed true to that direction, helping them achieve the overall aesthetic for which they were looking. The completed community includes 281 residences, including 195 independent living, 66 assisted living, and 20 memory care apartments. The elegant finishes create an eye-catching environment that is appealing to residents and families.

To further enhance the lives of residents, Clarendale Clayton also has approximately 28,000 SF of commons space. Here, residents have access to concierge services, complimentary transportation, three dining options from casual to elegant dining, and a full-service salon and spa. Other amenities include a fitness class studio, cardio and weight training studio, a theatre, art studio, bistro, and access to the greater Clayton community. Throughout these spaces, you’ll see the same kinds of elegant finishes that were incorporated in residents’ rooms and apartments. Maintaining a high design standard throughout the space helps Ryan Companies when showing the building to prospective residents, while also making Clarendale Clayton a place where seniors and their families want to spend time.
