Why did you decide to work in the AEC industry?
I have always had a passion for “making,” beginning with a love of painting and expanding to a variety of creative interests over the years, including pottery, woodworking, product design, and other traditional art mediums. I am also fascinated by psychology. Architectural design involves an intriguing mix of my two primary interests – art and psychology. As an architect, I enjoy opportunities to be creative in design, while deeply considering how people might function and respond emotionally to a space.

What is your favorite part about working on projects?
I enjoy collaborating with others on projects. Sometimes, a type of “magic” happens when people are exchanging ideas, and the conversation sparks an innovative design solution that a single person could not have ideated on their own. I think that synergy is exciting and rewarding.

If you were a crayon, which color would you be and why?
I would be “Jazzberry Jam,” because it’s energetic and fun. Also, it has two things that I love in the name – food and music.

What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
A house with an art studio

Where is your “happy place”??
It’s a three way tie between Mission Taco, Hobby Lobby, and HomeGoods.

Traveling around Italy for at least three weeks with nothing planned in advance
