The Behavioral Health Allies renovation focuses on creating a nurturing environment for individuals with disabilities. The design prioritizes a non-institutional aesthetic across the 84,068 SF adaptive reuse of a two-story building. Interior spaces are designed to be bright and relaxing, fostering a sense of safety and welcome. Intentional wayfinding utilizes color and biophilic design elements, guiding clients through five distinct departments, alongside administrative and support areas. Design finishes balance durability and cleanability with a warm, engaging aesthetic, avoiding an overstimulating and institutional environment. The welcoming lobby and thoughtfully planned spaces cater to the diverse needs of clients, from infancy to adulthood. Externally, a secure campus with a planned playground complements the interior’s supportive design, promoting a holistic sense of well-being.
